🌀What is Aura?

Aura is a decentralized platform where experts evaluate each other and in turn evaluate subjects in domains such as code audits, insurance claims, regulatory compliance, grant reviews, open source impact, credentialing, community membership and unique anonymous humans. Aura evaluations produce digital attestations that infuse reality into online activities.
Aura decentralizes administration by inviting those closest to the source of truth to evaluate claims and make objective rulings. It uses existing trust relationships for oversight. In the BrightID domain, experts evaluate whether a BrightID account is a person's only account or a duplicate. This can result in a positive Aura verification level for the person in BrightID, which in turn can unlock their ability to link to apps that want an assurance that they only have one account.
The BrightID mobile app is used to create a universal, socially recoverable identifier for each person to which Aura players can refer. No personal information is shared to Aura players that they don't already know about a subject.
Although anyone is welcome to play Aura to help verify other people, this isn't required to get an Aura verification level. Most people wanting an Aura verification level should simply install the BrightID mobile app and follow the instructions.
If you would like to learn more about how Aura works, meet other Aura players and discuss best practices, join the Aura discord.
